Background:
Cara grew up in Syracuse, New York where she was raised on the north side of the city. Cara attended Villanova University and recieved a Bachelor's Degree in English. After college Cara took a hiatus from schooling, and joined the work force as a waitress at Friendly's Restaurant. She immeadiately got hooked on the restaurant scene, loved the fast-paced work environment that challenged her organizational skills and personal efficiency, and enjoyed the customer service involved in her day to day duties. Cara's decision to focus on developing her culinary skills took her to Hyde Park, New York where she enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America. A lot of great things happened to Cara at the C.I.A, she met her partner, Ben, while frenching a rack of lamb, she had an incredible four-month internship in New York City at Saveur magazine, and learned life long skills that apply beyond just the kitchen. Degree in hand, she was on the move cooking her way across the country, working in Cleveland, Ohio; San Francisco, California; and finally right here in Ithaca. Now, Cara prefers to be a happy home cook who takes pleasure in nourishing her family and friends with wholesome meals cooked straight from the heart. A very important reason brought Cara back to central New York. She and Ben began their own family, so it seemed to make sense to be close to a support system, people they could trust as they raised their two children, Lulani and Kaden. Then, after a great experience buying their first home, her interests were peaked anew by the real estate industry. Cara became a licensed real estate agent in 2005 and is thoroughly enjoying her new career. Many of the skills and traits she learned in the past- using resources wisely and efficiently, developing creative approaches to problem solving- are applicable today. She looks forward to applying them for you to meet your needs.
